Alec's 8th Grade Graduation!!!

Boy did capturing this event bring back the memories of my own graduation from middle school!!!!

Watching these kiddos, you could see that the celebration evoked those feelings of excitement and wonder of the unknown.  The wonder of what high school would bring to life was most likely in everyone's thoughts, and it brought a smile to my face as I remembered the similar feelings I had had at that age.

It was so awesome to see the friendships formed in this part of Alec's life.  Those friendships that will be there for a lifetime, were evident in their smiles and sweet gestures.  And, it was also an occasion marked with recognition of admirable accomplishments, the foundation of an amazing education, and the obvious sign that the class had become like a "family."

Enjoy this next step in your life, Alec, as you move on to some of the most unforgettable life experiences you will ever have :):):):):)

Best of Luck to You, Alec!!!!

The Toedebusch Shoot

OK, I usually don't single out the men on my shoots.  After all, the men are usually along for the "ride", and have this look on their faces that they are wishing the "ride" would end as quickly as possible.  However, Lenny & Eli were the most pleasant and patient guys to date, and I'm not exaggerating!!!  I was even pondering having them make a video on how "to be" during a family photo shoot :)

Additionally, I could not have dreamed that taking pics of 2 families (at the same time) would be such a delight!  From kiddos to parents, this was an awesome experience for me!!!

Thanks for being such awesome people to shoot :):):):):)

Florida, Friends, & 40!!!!

Yes, I'm running behind as usual, and as usual I have excuses :):):)

Last week I turned the Big 4-0, and the festivities began a full 5 days in advance with a jaunt to Sanibel Island to celebrate with 3 of my oldest and dearest friends.  We all turn 40 this year, and wanted to do something special for the occasion.  My friend Amy's Mom was kind enough to offer her fabulous home for the festivities, and it was amazing.

Thanks again for sharing with us Carole :):):)

I pulled out my 6 year old Rebel for ease and convenience, and using it again quickly reminded me of why it gave me the urge to become an official photog.  Here's a few of the shots from our fantastic trip.

Our Deliciously Fabulous Homebase!!!

I always take my Mom's ashes with me when I travel.
We decided to spread them at sunset,
because it was always her favorite part about coming to Florida.

Champagne was definitely in order for the event,
and so my girlfriends set-up this shot with the bottle,
the native flowers, and my Mom's traveling urn
- an empty film container (I know this put a smile on her face).

Amy & I were certain that her Dad (she lost her Dad weeks after I lost my Mom)
& my Mom sent this amazing sky to us to add to our memories.

Amy's gift to us was a bracelet & charm marking the occasion.
We have vowed to do a trip once a year to a new destination, and plan
on adding a charm to this bracelet each time.  I LOOOOOVE it!!!

Our Last Evening :(

Is that the New Charlie's Angels - oh no, it is just 4 would be cougars!!!  LOL

I'm so lucky to have you all as friends!
Thanks for being there for me, and thanks for adding to my life.  XOXO, Kel

The Vermeersch Shoot

Color and texture definitely added to the background of the Vermeersch shoot in Twin Oaks Park.  I had never shot there before, and will now think of it as a great local alternative to shooting in Forest Park.   While being  MUCH smaller, it still has a lot of great landscape and texture to do wonders for backgrounds.

I always talk about the great people I get to work with through this biz, and this family was another example of that greatness.  Those three little boys were adorable and so well-behaved.  Here's a peak at what we were able to get on Mother's Day!!!

I loved shooting your family :) :) :)

Thanks Vermeersch Family!
