So I was supposed to have all these amazing pictures from our trip to Cancun (we got back last Saturday), and while I did get a few, I didn't get near the number I was envisioning for the simple fact of this freaky, cloudy, brace yourself wind, down pours that rival monsoons, weather that we happened to get 2 1/2 out of 6 days during our selected vacation week.
The other 4 days consisted of 2 blissful and heavenly days of sun at the beginning of our trip, and 2 days of clouds and wind that forced you to wear a jacket with your swimming suit. Imagine being so desperate for sun that you actually put a jacket on over your swimming suit in case the sun should peek out, and you can quickly de-robe to capture the color you went to Mexico to obtain. I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it!!!!!!
And yes, you do detect a big fat hint of "Bitter Betty" surfacing. It is the reason I'm behind on blogging - because every time I look at these, I think of all the shots I was planning, but couldn't get because of very less than ideal weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whew . . . there that exploded out of me like the clip in the movie "A Christmas Story" where he tells Santa about the bebe gun he wants for Christmas, and then has that cute little smile at the end of his incredibly hard to understand blurp. Only I didn't have a cute little smile, mine was a melancholy look, while thinking of "what should have been!"
OK . . . it's done, Betty is going away:)
No really, all things considered, it was a blessing to have my Bro and his family with us. We had a great time with them, and the kids totally entertained each other. And how great is it to not have to cook, clean, do laundry, run to soccer games and practices, and help with homework for 1 solid week. BLISS!!!!!
Our Resort!
The Boo enjoying the crystal blue of the Caribbean:)
Em and I decided to change it up a bit,
so we made a sand cake instead of a castle.
Look at that water color in the background, stunning!!!
I love those little footprints:):):)
Loved the colors of this parachute against that dreamy blue.
Check out that melon chillin' in the sand! LOL Luv you Nephew!!!
Awwwwwh . . .CERVEZA
Yep, I gave up on getting the 6 of them to look at me with smiles.
How about 1 out of 6?
Tulum, perched on a cliff overlooking those endless blues . . .
it is an amazing site!!!!
These big guys are everywhere, and I'm not exaggerating.
Very cool to see them in their natural element.
Xel-Ha was incredible, I wish I would have gotten more snorkeling pics,
but I was enjoying it so much I couldn't break away to get the shots!
Check out my sassy swimsuit models :)
Pondering . . .
I just could not get enough of the color - everywhere I looked . . .
Now there will be a void for pictures that were never taken due to weather that did not allow us to venture outdoors:(
OK, I lied! I loved this pic of the girlies trying to fight the boredom
of being stuck in the hotel lobby!!!
More VOID/POUTING SPACE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
My Sister-In-Law decided on our last evening that she really wanted me to take family pics of them, even though the beach was out because of hurricane-force winds.
I'm so lucky to have such an amazing family:):):):):)
Who says you can't have a shoot in the middle of 30mph winds and drizzle?
Look, he can even climb trees like the natives!!!
Time to seek out a shelter - courtesy of the rain.
God I love them!!!!
We had just tossed some of my Mom's ashes into the ocean before I took these. I had promised her that we would always take her with us when we traveled. Look at what happened in the 3rd pic.
How bout' that sun popping through those clouds? In a matter of hours, there was not one cloud in the sky
as we entered the air to head home to St. Louie.
